5 pro-AL lawyers granted bail

The five are Abdur Rahman Hawlader, Shah Alam Talukder, Mohammad Abu Abdullah Bhuiyan, Mohammad Ali Akber and Mohammad Saiful Islam.

A Division Bench of the court comprising Justice ABM Khairul Haque and Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury granted them bail. The court also asked the government to explain within six weeks why they should not be granted permanent bail.

Delwar Hossain, assistant secretary of the city Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal's ward No. 74, filed two cases against six pro-Awami League lawyers -- one for hurling bombs on a Jubo Dal procession and the other for attacks on Jubo Dal activists -- in the court area. Another accused is in jail.
