Sammilita Ainjibi Samannaya Parished yesterday demanded repeal of the amendments to Civil Procedure Code and Bar Council Order.

People would be deprived of justice and corruption would grip the judiciary if the Civil Procedure Code amendment act becomes effective, said the Parishad leaders at its steering committee meeting.

They also alleged that the Bar Council Order amendment act is aimed at belittling the image of the Bar Council.

The said the provision for induction of justices into the enrolment committee would make them controversial and termed the provision for restriction on voting rights an interference in independent bar association.

The leaders also condemned the attack on the members of the Dhaka Bar Association on September 6 and demanded punishment to the attackers.

The Parishad will form a human chain in front of the Supreme Court at 12.00 noon today to press home its demands.
