5 more JCD men held for assault of army officer

They are Muhibul Haque Chowdhury Rahi, Humayun Kabir Khan, Lipu Banik, Junel Ahmed and Aminur Rahman Pavel. All were arrested in Dhaka.

A police team went to the capital to bring them back to Sylhet.

The private car in which they were travelling was also recovered.

With them the total number of JCD cadres arrested in connection with the incident now stood at eight.

They were produced before the Sylhet sadar magistrate's court yesterday afternoon.

Police took three accused-Dibya, Lavlu and Rahi on one-day remand while the others were sent to jail hajat.

The main accused Habib Ibne Islam Chamak is yet to be arrested.

Earlier, Dibya, Lavlu and Hakim were arrested from Sylhet on Friday and Saturday night.
