Sweden grants Tk 4.64 crore for ICDDR,B

The Swedish government has granted Tk 4.64 crore for ICDDR,B for arsenic mitigation project in Bangladesh.

An agreement to this effect was signed between the Swedish government and the ICDDR,B here yesterday, a press release said.

Borje Mattsson, ambassador of Sweden, and Prof David Sack, director of ICDDR,B, signed the agreement.

The Swedish ambassador said that his government was pleased to make this grant to an institution which has earned international reputation for its work.

He said Sweden is a development partner of ICDDR,B and is pleased to assist its research, service and training initiatives.

Prof David Sack said the funding from Sweden will facilitate the Centre's arsenic research project.
