Attack on mass dialogue condemned

An armed group of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) and Jubo Dal (JD) attacked Gonoforum President Dr Kamal Hossain and BDB President AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury injuring at least 30 people.

Bangladesh Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon and General Secretary Bimal Biswas, in a joint statement, said the attack in presence of police and Rab clearly proves the deterioration of law and order in the country.

They demanded immediate arrest and punishment to the persons responsible for the attack.

Central Committee Convenor of Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal Khalekuzzaman said the government talks about democracy but follows fascist policy.

In a statement to the press, he said the government now wants to cling to power by attacking the leaders and activists of opposition parties and disrupting their programmes with the help of law-enforcers.
