15 get life for killing one in Nilphamari

Additional District and Sessions Judge M Zahidul Islam handed down the verdict.

The convicts are Jamaddi, Alimuddi, Montu, Laksmi Barman, Nantu, Rabi Barman, Khitish Chandra, Kalu Barman, Bachha Barman alias Bachha, Pancha alias Pancham, Jamini, Atul Chandra (absconding), Ria Barman, Maheswar and Sempu.

According to the prosecution, a group of people was forcibly harvesting the paddy on the land of Fazlur Rahman on April 23, 1999. When Rahman tried to resist the group, Jamaddi stabbed him in his chest with a sharp weapon. He died on way to hospital.
