The goods include footwear, furniture, air conditioners, two digital telephone sets and one TV set.

The fire originated from electric short circuit under Khulna thana, Khulna fire brigade officials said.

Bata Shoe Centre Manager Feroze Ahmed said Tk 60,000 is also missing from cash box. He said that it was an act of sabotage.

Later, Feroz lodged a general diary with Khulna thana yesterday.

Meanwhile, a three-member Committee headed by Deputy Director of Fire Service in Khulna division Ashraf Ali to probe the cause of fire.

The probe committee has been asked to submit report by Sunday.

Khulna City Corporation Mayor Shaikh Tayebur Rahman, BNP and Awami League leaders and officials of civil and police administration visited the spot.
