$2m Novartis aid for disaster victims in S Asia

Novartis will provide over 2 million US dollar in immediate emergency aid for victims of the recent natural disaster in Southeast Asia, says a press release.

The support, which began immediately in the wake of the tragedy, includes direct financial aid to relief agencies and donations of essential medicines.

Novartis companies provided local authorities, hospitals and other institutions with aid and support immediately after the tsunami struck. Novartis made donated drug to local hospitals, the Red Cross and the Red Crescent organisations in Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia. It also donated funds for the flood victims in Sri Lanka.
