Ctg newspapers keep space vacant
Chittagong newspapers started their protest programme against police atrocities on working journalists keeping a space of six inches vacant on the front page from yesterday for next six days.
Four local dailies Azadi, Purbokone, Karnaphuli and Bir Chattagram Moncha had kept the space vacant on their front page.
Four journalists, Didarul Alam of Jugantar, Komol Dey of Bhorer Kagoj, Shantanu Chowdhury of Suprabhat Bangladesh and Mohammad Faruk of Azadi, came under police assault during hartal hours on Saturday morning while they were trying to take photographs of police actions on an Awami League procession in front of Darul Fazal Market area.
