Strike observed at DU

DU Correspondent
Six opposition-backed student organisations observed strike at the Dhaka University (DU) yesterday to press home their three-point demand, including release of two leaders Abu Abbas Bhuiyan and Mizanur Rahman Mizan and cancellation of the examination of General Mathematics and Everyday Science paper of the 25th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) exam.

They also demanded immediate arrest and punishment to the culprits responsible for the TSC bomb blasts.

No classes and examinations were held at DU due to the strike.

Meanwhile, tension was running high on the campus as Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) and the combine organisations brought out processions and held rallies chanting slogans against each others' party chief.
