Visually Impaired People's Assoc executives

Mansur Ahmed Chowdhury and Mosharraf Hossain Majumder have been elected president and general secretary of Bangladesh Visually Impaired People's Association respectively, says a press release.

They were elected unopposed at the first annual general meeting of the association held at Sundarban Hotel in the city on April 22.

The members of the association elected a 13-member executive committee for two years at the AGM. They cast their votes using Braille system.

Other office-bearers are Habibur Rahman Khan and Nasrin Jahan -- vice-presidents; M Saiful Islam Khan -- joint secretary; Farzana Taleb -- treasurer; Fahima Khatun -- women affairs secretary; and Marzina Ahmed and Masuma Akhter -- women members. And the members are Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, Mohammad Russell, Golam Mostofa and Bhaskar Bhattacharya.
