Kamruzzaman made CEO of Public Procurement Authority

Abu Sayed Md Kamruzzaman has joined the Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA) as its chief executive officer following his promotion to the rank of secretary.

He assumed office on July 28, according to a press release. Before joining the national authority responsible for public procurement policy, regulations, and the electronic government procurement (e-GP) system, Kamruzzaman served as executive director (additional secretary) of the Barind Multipurpose Development Authority.

A member of the 18th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) batch, he has more than two decades of experience in public administration, development planning, digital governance, project management, and public procurement.

As BPPA CEO, he aims to strengthen public procurement as a driver of sustainable development by ensuring value for money while promoting environmental, social, and economic outcomes.

Kamruzzaman previously served as CEO of Dhaka North City Corporation, director general of the National Cyber Security Agency, additional secretary at the ICT Division and the Ministry of Science and Technology, and project director of the National Academy for Development Administration.

He also worked at the Planning Commission and coordinated the Safe and Environment-Friendly Ship Recycling Project, jointly implemented by the government, the International Labour Organization, and the United Nations Development Programme.
