Nahid made BB executive director

Nahid Rahman has been promoted to the post of executive director at Bangladesh Bank, effective from June 30, 2026.

Prior to her promotion, she served as general manager (finance and accounts) at the Security Printing Corporation (Bangladesh) Ltd, according to a press release.

She joined Bangladesh Bank as an assistant director in 1999 after beginning her banking career as a probationary officer at Southeast Bank PLC.

During her career at the central bank, Nahid served in several key departments, including the Banking Regulation and Policy Department, the Foreign Exchange Reserve and Treasury Management Department, the Human Resources Department, the Bangladesh Bank Training Academy, and the Credit Guarantee Department.

She earned a master’s degree in finance from the Department of Finance and Banking at the University of Dhaka and another master’s degree in Development Economics from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Japan.

She later obtained a Master of Bank Management (MBM) degree from the Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM) and became a Diplomaed Associate of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (IBB).

In addition, Nahid completed the Certified Development Finance Professional (CDFP) programme jointly offered by Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and The Fletcher School at Tufts University.
