Daffodil crowned AMA Coffee Campus Futsal champion
Daffodil International University emerged champions after defeating Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology in the final of the AMA Coffee Campus Futsal 2026 tournament at the Mirpur Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Dhaka on June 30.
AMA Coffee, a popular Brazilian instant coffee brand marketed by the Abul Khair Group in Bangladesh, organised the three-day futsal tournament, tapping into the excitement surrounding the FIFA World Cup 2026, according to a press release.
The champions received Tk 5 lakh in prize money, while the runners-up were awarded Tk 2 lakh. Individual honours for Best Goalkeeper, Top Scorer and Most Valuable Player were also presented.
Brig Gen (retd) Mohammed Mamun, executive director of Abul Khair Group, attended the final as the chief guest and presented the trophy to the winners.
“The greatest achievement of this tournament was never just the trophy itself. Bringing together 32 private universities from across Dhaka on a single platform was the real success story,” he said.
“Different campuses, different jerseys, but the same passion for the game and the same team spirit united every team,” he added.
The tournament featured 32 private universities and 16 knockout matches from June 28, providing students with a platform to showcase their talent, sportsmanship and competitive spirit.
The Bangladesh Football Federation provided technical support throughout the tournament, ensuring the matches were conducted smoothly and professionally.
Private television channel GTV broadcast the final live, extending the event’s reach to audiences across the country.
Fahad Karim, vice-president of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), along with senior representatives of the participating institutions, was also present.
