Southeast Bank’s sponsor gifts 1.3 lakh shares to son
Iftekhar Azim Ahmed, a sponsor of Southeast Bank, has expressed his intention to transfer 130,000 shares of the company to his son, Saleh Ahmed, a general shareholder of the company.
By way of gift, the shares will be given outside the trading system of the exchange within the next 30 working days with effect from August 17, 2026.
Today, its shares dropped 4.3 percent to Tk 11.10. At this price, the total share value would be Tk 14.44 lakh.
The bank provided a 3 percent cash dividend and a 7 percent stock dividend for 2025.
The A-category bank’s sponsors and directors hold 31.31 percent of the bank’s shares.
Southeast Bank’s profit soared to Tk 335 crore last year from Tk 43 crore in the previous year.
