Prioritise CMSME loans for women: Krishi Bank chairman

Bangladesh Krishi Bank Chairman Mohammed Nurul Amin has directed the bank’s officials to prioritise the disbursement of CMSME loans to women entrepreneurs.

He gave the directive at the daylong Divisional Conference 2026 of the bank’s Mymensingh Division on Friday, according to a press statement issued yesterday. The conference was held at Advocate Tareq Memorial Auditorium, Town Hall Muktomancha in Mymensingh. It was chaired by Zamil Ahmed, general manager of the bank’s Mymensingh division. Nurul attended the event as the chief guest.

Delivering the keynote address, the bank’s chairman also called for the successful implementation of Bangla QR transactions as part of efforts to build a cashless Bangladesh. Highlighting the importance of financial inclusion, he stressed the contribution of school banking and its role in expanding access to formal financial services.

The chairman also commended the bank’s initiative for ensuring transparency in loan disbursement and urged officials and employees at all levels to effectively implement the strategic plans adopted by the bank’s management.

Md Abdur Rahim, deputy managing director of Bangladesh Krishi Bank, Joydev Chandra Banik, director of Bangladesh Bank’s Mymensingh office, and Reza Md Golam Masum Prothan, additional DC (general) of Bangladesh Bank, were present as special guests

General managers from the bank’s head office, its board secretary, the deputy general manager of the SME department, divisional audit officer, chief regional managers, regional audit officers and officials from branches across the division also attended.
