Trust Bank readies Kafrul branch for Islamic banking

Trust Bank PLC has converted its Kafrul branch into a full-fledged Islamic banking branch and renamed it Kafrul Islamic banking branch to expand access to shariah-compliant banking services.

Chief of Army Staff General Waqar-Uz-Zaman, chairman of the bank, inaugurated the branch recently at a ceremony in the capital’s Kafrul, according to a press release.

The branch will offer shariah-compliant deposit and investment products, along with modern banking services.

Trust Bank’s Islamic banking operations are conducted in accordance with shariah principles and applicable Bangladesh Bank guidelines.

The conversion of the branch is part of the bank’s efforts to expand its Islamic banking footprint and provide accessible, customer-focused and shariah-compliant financial solutions.

Through the new Islamic banking branch, Trust Bank aims to strengthen the availability of such services for customers in Kafrul and surrounding areas while supporting financial inclusion.

Trust Bank currently provides Islamic banking services through its full-fledged Islamic banking branches and Islamic banking windows across its network.

Maj Gen Mohd Hossain Al Morshed, vice-chairman of the bank and adjutant general of the Bangladesh Army; Ahsan Zaman Chowdhury, managing director and CEO; and members of the board of directors, senior management, officials and guests were also present.
