BSF picks up one from Meherpur

Members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) picked up a Bangladeshi national from bordering Dariapur village in Mujibnagar upazila of Meherpur district early yesterday.

The victim is Khowaj Ali Sheikh, 30, son of Habil Sheikh of the village.

Subedar Zakir Hossain, commander of Dariapur BoP under BGB 36 Battalion, said a BSF team from Bhiterpara camp in Nadia district of Paschimbanga picked up Khowaj from near the border while he was working on his farmland around 5:30am.

BGB sent a letter to its Indian counterpart, demanding return of Khowaj.
