Contractor hacked to death in Bogra

A sub-contractor of Bogra Palli Bidyut Samity was hacked to death at Shakpala area under Shajahanpur upazila in Bogra early yesterday.

The deceased was identified as Amirul Islam, 26, son of Zahidul Islam of Shonarpara area in Shakpala village. He was vice-president of the upazila unit of Jatiya Party (Ershad) and sub-contractor of Bogra Palli Bidyut Samity.

Police, quoting the deceased's relatives, said he went out of his house after getting a call on his cellphone at around 12:30am and did not come back. His body was found near his house in the morning.

Being informed, police rushed to the spot and sent the body to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital (SZMCH) for autopsy. The body bore several cut injuries, police said.
