Father, son hacked

A man and his son were hacked by rival men following an altercation over previous enmity in Bhandaria upazila of the district yesterday morning. The injured are Abdul Haque Jomadder, 47, and his son Talif Jomadder, 16, of Dakkhin Charail village in the upazila. Critically injured Haque was sent to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital. Police and family sources said Talif went to feed a cow at a field in the area. An altercation took place between Talif and neighbour Nizamul there. On information, Haque rushed to the spot to pacify them. At one stage, Nizamul and his nephew Russel hacked the father and son, leaving them injured. Later, police arrested one Sohel and Russel in connection with the attack.
