Case For Killing 3 Cops of Dhalarchar Camp

Main accused Nistar held

An operative of banned Purbo Bangla Communist Party (PBCP-Sarbahara faction), and the main accused in the case for killing three policemen, was arrested from Dublia in Pabna Sadar upazila early yesterday.

The arrestee, Md Nistar, alias Jahid, alias Nizam, of Khaschar-Bolorampur village, is the regional leader of the outlawed party and the mastermind behind the killing of three cops in Dhalarchar Police Camp.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested him from Dublia Bazar area at around 5:30am, said Abdul Hai Sarkar, an official of Pabna Rab.

"Nistar is accused in many cases in Pabna and Kushtia districts, including the three police murder case," he added.

Members of the party led by Nistar gunned down Sub-inspector Md Kafil Uddin, Nayek Wahed Ali and constable Md Shafikul Islam of Dhalarchar Police Camp at Rajdhardiar under Bera upazila of the district on July 20, 2010.

sPolice submitted charge sheet, accusing 20 outlaws on November 22, 2011, naming Nistar as the prime accused. Nistar went into hiding after the incident, Rab said.

The arrestee was handed over to police.
