'Robber' beaten to death

An alleged robber was killed in a mob beating at Bankuri village in Singra upazila of the district early yesterday. The deceased was identified as Razzak. Additional Superintendent of Police Munshi Saheb Uddin said a gang stormed the house of Saheb Ali at the village around 1:00am. The robbers looted valuables after taking the family members hostage at gunpoint. Hearing screams, locals rushed in and caught Razzak. Later, the mob gave Rezzak a good beating, leaving him dead on the spot. However, other members of the gang managed to flee. Being informed, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Natore Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
