Two youths commit suicide in Jessore

Two youths allegedly committed suicide in Sadar upazila and Jhikargachha of Jessore district on Wednesday night.

The deceased were identified as Tota Miah, 36, son of late Mohar Ali Mia of Ghurolia village in Sadar upazila, and Sumon Hossain, 23, son of late Amin Moral of Katakhali village in Jhikargachha upazila of the district.

Locals and police said Sumon took poison in his room around 10:00 pm on Wednesday following a family feud. He was rushed to Jessore Medical College Hospital where he died at around 2:00 am.

Tota Miah hanged himself from a tree near his residence at around 11:30 pm following an altercation with family members.

He was later sent to the Jessore Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
