Youth killed over family feud

A young man, who was stabbed by his cousins over a family feud in Shajahanpur upazila on Tuesday night, died at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital (SZMCH) yesterday.The deceased is Abu Hanif, 20, son of Motaleb Hossain of Gondagram Dakkhinpara in the upazila. Police said there had been a longstanding feud between Motaleb and his cousins over the sharing of their family properties and other valuables. As a sequel to that, a group of 10/12 people allegedly led by Hanif's cousin Rony, 22, son of Nehaj Uddin, waylaid him near Phuldighi Intersection around 8:00pm and stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured. Hearing screams, locals went to the spot, rescued Hanif and took him to SZMCH in Bogra. He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital around 5:00am yesterday.
