Anupam Roy’s Dhaka concert gets new date after postponement

After being postponed at the last minute, Indian singer-songwriter and composer Anupam Roy is finally set to perform in Dhaka. The much-anticipated concert, titled “One True Sound”, will now take place on August 1 at the United Convention Centre in Dhaka.

The concert was originally scheduled for June 26 at the same venue, with all preparations completed before it was postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. At the time, the organisers said the event would be rescheduled once the issues had been resolved.

Arifa Shabnam of organiser Triple Time Communications confirmed that preparations for the rescheduled concert have been finalised.

“Ticket sales will begin within the next few days. We are also planning to keep ticket prices slightly lower than they were for the previous event,” she said.

Addressing concerns about tickets purchased for the postponed concert, Arifa said, “As far as I know, almost everyone who bought tickets from the organisers—except around 40 people—has already received a refund. However, the old tickets will not be valid for the new concert, and attendees will need to purchase new ones.”

The “One True Sound” concert will be held at the United Convention Centre, which has a seating capacity of around 4,000. Alongside Anupam Roy, the organisers plan to feature a Bangladeshi artiste or band, although the name has yet to be finalised.

Meanwhile, Yamaha Music Bangladesh has confirmed that all necessary approvals for the event have been secured. The organisers said they hope to deliver a memorable evening of music for concertgoers.
