Chhayanaut’s Shikor holds vibrant welcome ceremony for children
A colourful welcome programme for new students of Shikor, the cultural orientation initiative for children organised by Chhayanaut, was held this morning at Chhayanaut Cultural Centre. Launched in 2008, the Shikor programme has gradually expanded its activities to Gulshan alongside its main branch.

More than a hundred senior students from both branches welcomed an equal number of newcomers and their guardians through vibrant performances of songs, poetry recitations, rhyme-based music, dance, acting and Bratachari presentations.

The children's lively performances beautifully reflected the richness and heritage of Bengali culture, creating a joyful and festive atmosphere throughout the event. Delivering the opening remarks, Chhayanaut vice-president Khairul Anam Shakil urged parents to play an active role in nurturing children through the traditions and values of Bengali culture.

The programme concluded with an exchange session between Shikor organisers and parents. Guardians expressed their heartfelt appreciation to Chhayanaut for helping cultivate cultural awareness among children. Also, they conveyed their interest in becoming more closely involved with the Shikor initiative in the future.
