Coke Studio Bangla unveils monsoon anthem ‘Megh’

Arts & Entertainment Desk

Coke Studio Bangla has released its latest song from Season 4, titled “Megh”, today at 7:46 pm. The track brings together classical Bengali musical traditions and contemporary sounds as a tribute to the spirit of Ashar.

The song is a collaboration between musician Arnob and classical vocalist and composer Mohammed Shoeb. It is rooted in the monsoon Raag “Mian Ki Malhar” and explores themes of anticipation, resilience, and renewal long associated with the rainy season in South Asian culture.

“Megh” draws inspiration from Rabindranath Tagore’s literary works while incorporating modern spoken word influences. The arrangement features contemporary vocal performances and layered instrumentation that retain the emotional depth of classical music while making it accessible to younger audiences.

The track features performances by Masha Islam and Mousumi Dutta alongside Mohammed Shoeb. The production combines classical vocal techniques, contemporary songwriting, and modern musical arrangements, reflecting both Bangladesh’s rich cultural roots and its evolving creative landscape.

With the monsoon long serving as a source of inspiration in Bengali music, poetry, and storytelling, the release marks a timely celebration of the season.

“Megh” is now available across digital platforms and the official Coke Studio Bangla YouTube channel.
