FIR filed against Parambrata, Swastika over 2021 social media posts
An FIR has been filed against Bengali actors Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Swastika Mukherjee in Kolkata over social media posts made during the 2021 post-poll period in West Bengal.

According to local reports, the complaint was lodged at Gariahat Police Station by a lawyer, who alleged that comments made by the actors on social media at the time may have affected the already tense political atmosphere following the state assembly election results.

The posts date back to May 2021, when political tensions were reported across several parts of West Bengal. The complaint reportedly refers to remarks and responses shared on the platform formerly known as Twitter.
Police sources quoted in local media confirmed that an FIR has been registered and that the matter is currently under investigation. Authorities have not disclosed further details regarding the specific charges so far.
Neither Parambrata Chattopadhyay nor Swastika Mukherjee has publicly responded to the matter yet.
