Four bands to perform at ‘Soccerama’ marking Claudio Caniggia’s Dhaka visit

Argentine football star Claudio Caniggia is set to visit Dhaka, with a special concert being organised in his honour.

Titled “Soccerama”, the concert will take place on August 18 at the United Convention Centre in the capital. Caniggia, who represented Argentina in three FIFA World Cups, will be the main attraction of the event. He was also a teammate of football legends Diego Maradona and Gabriel Batistuta.

Four Bangladeshi bands—Chirkutt, Artcell, Nemesis and Odd Signature—will perform at the concert.

Announcing the event, Chirkutt wrote on its Facebook page, “Argentine superstar Claudio Caniggia, who rocked the 1990 and 1994 World Cups, is coming to Dhaka on August 18. What an incredible determination and aura he had as a player! We are super excited to perform for him. To celebrate this glorious icon of world football, the concert ‘Soccerama’ is being organised, where Chirkutt will perform live at the United Convention Centre.”

Nemesis also shared its excitement, saying, “A great moment is coming. In honour of a beloved person, with beloved bands. See you on August 18.”

The concert is being organised by Link 3 and Affordable Venture Limited. It will begin at 3 pm.

As part of the event, 100 lucky audience members will get the chance to speak with Caniggia, take his autograph and have photographs with him.
