Runa Laila to headline Melbourne’s ‘Legacy Tour’ with Bengal Symphony
Legendary singer Runa Laila is set to perform in Melbourne this August as part of the “Runa Laila Legacy Tour”, a special concert celebrating her remarkable musical journey.
The event will be held on August 8 at the prestigious Melbourne Recital Centre, with the programme beginning at 5:30 pm local time.
Organised by Australia Bangladesh Cultural Exchange (ABCx), the concert will also feature performances by Bengal Symphony under the direction of National Film Award-winning music composer and singer Emon Chowdhury.
Bengal Symphony’s manager, Sujon Debnath, confirmed that preparations for the tour are underway.

“Our initial discussions with the organisers have been completed, and a few final matters are still being worked out. If everything goes according to plan, we will leave Dhaka for Melbourne on July 30,” he said.
Band member Md Syduzzaman Sumon recently shared the concert’s official poster on social media, expressing his excitement about the upcoming show.

According to the organisers, the evening will feature some of Runa Laila’s timeless classics alongside Bengal Symphony’s live renditions of several recent hits popularised through “Coke Studio Bangla”.

The band’s planned setlist includes audience favourites such as “Shada Shada Kala Kala”, “Kotha Koiyo Na”, “Baji”, “Ami Ghomta Khule” and “Teka Pakhi”, among others.
Ticket sales for the concert are already underway, with organisers reporting strong interest from music lovers and members of the Bangladeshi diaspora across Australia.
