Tahsan Khan returns to the screen with new project

After taking a break from acting and announcing that he would no longer release new music, singer-actor Tahsan Khan is set to return to the screen as the host of “Voice of Bangladesh”, the national selection competition for “Eurovision Song Contest Asia”.

Five of Bangladesh’s leading music personalities will serve as judges: Fahmida Nabi, Hamin Ahmed, Bappa Mazumder, Shouquat Ali Imon and Akhi Alamgir.

Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) since 1956, the Eurovision Song Contest is one of the world’s longest-running and most prestigious live music competitions. Bangladesh is set to participate for the first time in the regional edition, “Eurovision Song Contest Asia.”

“Voice of Bangladesh” has been launched to select the country’s representative for the competition. Following the preliminary auditions, the top 12 contestants are currently undergoing a special grooming programme. The grand finale, scheduled for September 30, will determine Bangladesh’s representative.

The winner will go on to represent Bangladesh at “Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026”, which will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 14. Bangladesh will compete alongside countries including South Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Nepal, Bhutan, Cambodia and Laos.

The organisers will unveil the competition’s detailed roadmap at a press conference in Dhaka today, where Tahsan Khan and the five judges will also be introduced officially. The competition, including its grand finale, will be broadcast on OTT platform Bongo and NTV.

Alongside his return to television, Tahsan has remained active in humanitarian work. As a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, he recently visited the Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar, where he met young Rohingya refugees to discuss their aspirations, challenges and hopes for the future.
