Imran and I Kings honoured in Australia, set for US tour in July
Bangladeshi singer Imran Mahmudul and his band I Kings have been honoured in Australia following their performance at “Fagun Hawa Fest 2026” in Sydney on May 2.
The event, organised by members of the Bangladeshi diaspora in Sydney, drew praise for the band’s performance. In recognition of their participation and adherence to official procedures, Australian Member of Parliament Mark Coure presented Imran and I Kings with a certificate of honour.
After returning to Bangladesh, Imran said this was the first time a Bangladeshi band had received such recognition in Australia for participating in a concert through proper official channels and delivering a successful performance.
“We are truly honoured to receive this certificate from MP Mark Coure in Sydney. It is a huge achievement for us,” Imran said. “We sincerely thank him, as well as those who invited us to perform in Sydney. We are grateful for their love and support.”
Following the Sydney concert, Imran also revealed that he and I Kings are preparing for a tour in the United States this July. According to the singer, all visa procedures for the band members have already been completed.
Imran said the band received an invitation from Khan Mohammad Ali to participate in the “Anandamela 2026” award show and several other concerts across the United States.
“So far, performances at 15 concerts across multiple US states have been finalised. Discussions are also ongoing for several more shows,” he said.
Imran Mahmudul serves as the lead vocalist of I Kings. Other members of the band include Rajib Ghosh on lead guitar, Kaioum Khan on keyboards, Sajal Kumar Saha on drums, and Jahangir Alam Jony on bass guitar.
