Runa Laila’s daughter Tani calls for action against AI-generated death rumours

The daughter of renowned singer Runa Laila, Tani Laila, has urged fans to report social media accounts spreading false reports about her mother’s health, after a claim that the singer is “battling for her life” began circulating online alongside AI-generated videos and images.

Tani, who is currently in the United States with her family, confirmed in a social media post that her mother is alive and in good health. She also expressed frustration over the spread of fake news and misleading content created using artificial intelligence.

“I am truly annoyed and fed up seeing these posts, AI-generated YouTube videos and fake news being spread just to make a small amount of money,” Tani wrote. “I will personally start reporting these types of content, one by one, until these idiots stop this nonsense.”

Reflecting on her mother’s six-decade musical career, Tani also criticised those who continue to disrespect the veteran singer.

“My mother has devoted six decades of her life to serving music. Yet people continue to disrespect her in this way even now — what an utter shame and humiliation this is for us!” she wrote.

Tani further clarified that the claims about Runa Laila’s health are entirely false.

“My mother is completely healthy and alive; no one has died, nor is she on the verge of death. These are all videos and images created using AI,” she said.

Urging Runa Laila’s followers to take action against such content, Tani added, “It is no longer tolerable. Those who follow Runa Laila, please report such accounts.”
