Renowned Bangladeshi rock band Warfaze is set to pay tribute to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, through a special concert scheduled for July 31 at the Hall of Fame, Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center (BCFCC), in Dhaka.

The gates will open at 4pm, while the show is scheduled to begin at 6pm.

Details of the concert were unveiled at a press conference held on July 4. The event is being organised by Warfaze in collaboration with Brandmyth and Mars & Co., powered by Chuti Resort, Cox’s Bazar, with Carpe Diem as the playlist partner and Coca-Cola as an associate partner.

The three-hour concert will follow a unique format. For the first two hours, Warfaze will perform some of Michael Jackson’s most iconic songs, accompanied by dance performances, choreography, and visual productions. Following a short intermission, the band will return to the stage to perform its own repertoire.

The concert also marks Warfaze’s first solo live show since receiving the prestigious Ekushey Padak, Bangladesh’s second-highest civilian award.

Although the Hall of Fame can accommodate nearly 4,000 people, the organisers have limited attendance to 2,500 to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for concertgoers of all ages.

Tickets are available through GetSetRock in three categories—VIP, Grand View, and Legend’s Circle. Each tier offers a different concert experience while ensuring equal access to essential facilities, including restrooms, food, and drinking water. VIP ticket holders will receive exclusive merchandise and an opportunity to meet the band, while Grand View ticket holders will enjoy premium gallery seating. Legend’s Circle, meanwhile, offers a standing-zone experience designed for fans seeking a more energetic atmosphere.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the tribute concert, Warfaze band leader and drummer Tipu said, “We used to cover three or four Michael Jackson songs before, notably ‘Beat It’ and ‘Billie Jean’. After watching the newly released Michael movie and realising how everyone else is also affected by the MJ fever like us, we decided to give it a go.”

Lead guitarist Kamal acknowledged the scale of the challenge involved in recreating Jackson’s music on stage.

“The thing we are trying to achieve is indeed very challenging. Michael is the greatest ever, and his music is all about perfection. We are working hard as well to give the audience a great time,” he said.

Synthesiser player Shams highlighted the complexity of adapting Jackson’s music into Warfaze’s signature rock sound.

“Michael’s songs are built on layers of synth with almost no guitar, so reshaping them into our rock sound has been the hardest work we have done,” he said. “We want the audience to feel it is unmistakably Michael and unmistakably Warfaze.”

Lead vocalist Polash reflected on Jackson’s lasting influence beyond music.
“Michael Jackson was never just a musician for me. He was an era. ‘Heal the World’, ‘We Are the World’, and ‘Earth Song’ were calls for unity and for the planet. Carrying them on stage is a responsibility we feel deeply,” he said.
Guitarists Samir and Shoumen have also reworked their performances for the tribute, with Samir incorporating guitar synthesisers to bridge the gap between Jackson’s original arrangements and Warfaze’s rock-driven approach.

Mizanur Rahman, managing director of Chuti Resort, Cox’s Bazar, expressed his admiration for both Warfaze and Michael Jackson, adding that he and his team were delighted to welcome the band to Chuti House.

The press conference was hosted by Rakibul Azam, chairman of Brandmyth. Others present included Sheikh Mahdi Hasan, deputy managing director of Brandmyth; Mahbubul Akram, chairman of Mars & Co.; and Atif Ahmed, chief executive officer of Mars & Co.
