Rumeen Farhana to join protest against ‘Bonolota Express’ screening halt

Barrister Rumeen Farhana has announced that she will attend a human chain and protest programme in Brahmanbaria today in response to the reported suspension of screenings of the film “Bonolota Express”.

In a post shared from her official Facebook account, the lawyer and politician said the demonstration would take place at Shahbazpur Union in Brahmanbaria at 4:15pm today (June 1).

“Today, a human chain and protest programme will be held in Brahmanbaria protesting the closure of screenings of the film ‘Bonolota Express’. I will be present there,” Rumeen Farhana wrote in the post.

According to the announcement, the programme has been organised to protest the reported halt in the film’s exhibition.

Rumeen Farhana is a barrister and politician who previously served as a member of parliament and is currently an elected independent lawmaker from the Brahmanbaria-2 constituency. She has remained an active public voice on legal, political, and social issues in Bangladesh.

Further details regarding the reasons behind the suspension of “Bonolota Express” screenings or the organisers of the protest programme have not yet been officially announced.
