‘I am yet to meet an enthusiastic actor like him’

Today marks the first death anniversary of noted actor Abdul Kader. On this day, his colleague Ramendu Majumdar spoke to The Daily Star about his admiration for him.

Abdul Kader was a very jolly person. He was involved in theatre from the beginning of his career. He was the joint secretary of our theatre group for a long time. He proved himself as an essential part of the team through his work, talent, and love for acting.

He never threw any tantrums regarding his work.  Acting was like meditation to him. People should take note of how much he enjoyed and loved acting.

An actor memorises the dialogues of only one character in a stage play. But Abdul Kader was different. He used to memorise everyone's lines in stage plays. I am yet to meet an enthusiastic actor like him.

He always cheered people up with his humour. Everyone used to be happy around him.  He had a rare talent. The only regret is that he is no longer with us. He had a lot more to contribute to the stage.

He had great respect for me. I have immense amount of love for him, which will never change.

He was brilliant in the play, "Meraj Fokirer Ma". Whenever we stage this play now, we miss his presence.
