Never said I will be leaving the film industry: Mahiya Mahi

Actress Mahiya Mahi has refuted rumours about her leaving films for good. She was spotted shooting for Shamim Ahamed Roni's film "Bubujaan" at BFDC on Monday.

"I never said I will be leaving the film industry. Why would I say that?  However, I wouldn't do anything in films that would embarrass my family," said Mahiya Mahi.

"I really don't understand what people get by spreading such rumours. I am playing a lead character in the movie 'Bubujaan' and I believe that my role is something that the audience will remember for a long time," added the actress.

She also spoke about the controversy around her leaked phone conversation.

"I would not like to say anything about this issue. I have heard a lot of things and I would like to remain silent on this topic for the time being," said the actress.

"Earlier on, I revealed that I would like to talk about this with our Honourable Prime Minister. However, she is busy with important work of the state so it is hard to meet her right now.  I have to meet her through a long process. Hopefully, I will be able to see her soon," she concluded.
