The Abdullah Mohammad Saad directorial made history as the first Bangladeshi film to be screened at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival's Un Certain Regard section, earlier this year. Un Certain Regard, meaning "from another angle", presents 20 films with unusual styles and non-traditional stories seeking international recognition.

On the other hand, Rezwan Shahriar Sumit received the Best Director award and Chananun Chotrungroj received the Best Cinematography award for "Nonajoler Kabbo" at MISAFF.

The film was also well-received at the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, BFI London Film Festival, Ingmar Bergman Competition, and Busan International Film Festival.

"Rehana Maryam Noor" and "Nonajoler Kabbo" are now playing in theatres.
