Ramadan may begin tomorrow

The holy month of Ramadan will begin in Bangladesh tomorrow if the Ramadan moon is sighted today.

A meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee will be held at the Islamic Foundation's Baitul Mukkaram conference room at 7:30pm today, reports BSS.

The meeting will review the news of moon sighting for the holy month of Ramadan of 1437 Hijri and make the decision in this regard.

Religious Affairs Minister and Chairman of the committee Principal Matior Rahman will preside over the meeting.

People have been requested to inform about the moon sighting through telephone and fax numbers of the Islamic Foundation if they can see the moon anywhere in the country's sky.

The telephone numbers are: 9559493, 9559643, 9555947, 9556407 and 9558337 and the fax numbers are: 9563397 and 9555951.
