On Saturday, the nation helplessly saw the killing of a freethinking publisher and critical injury of another, plus injury of two other bloggers in the city. Both were publishers of slain secularist writer-blogger Avijit Roy.

Both of them were left shell-shocked by the brutal murders of their loved ones. But that sense of shock gave way to anger and frustration. This was clear in their statements circulated in the mass and social media.

The police and the Dhaka University authorities are repeatedly asking the father of slain Faisal Arefin Dipan to file a case in connection with the murder. But Abul Quasem Fazlul Huq, a supernumerary professor of the DU, sticks to his earlier position that he wouldn't take legal actions.

Making way through the crowd that gathered around the body of her husband at the car park of Poet Sufia Kamal Hall of Dhaka University, she said, “I promise. I'll come.
