Z and Z!

Spring is just around the corner and with it, she brings her many gifts. You have longer hours during the day, colourful flowers bloom all around and the birds just can't stop singing. Just open your windows and allow the spring in with all her unbridled glory and refresh your home and you will feel energised!

Falgun, spring in Bangla, is celebrated just like any other festival but with more colours. Now spring is perceived as a colourful season for obvious reasons and this year people are being more experimental with the many hues. A moderate temperature makes styling all the more easier too. Dresses made of fabrics like jute cotton, muslin and cotton usually dominate this season. Start your day with a jute cotton kameez with some mirror work or embroidery on the neck and you can also team it up with a tie-dyed orna and a palazzo or a straight-cut pants. With light make up and tied hair, it is simple and makes you look stylish while draped in the essence of spring.

If you don't know where to start though, check out Z & Z collection. Z & Z Collections brings you their colourfully stylish and sophisticated collection this Falgun. "Nature inspires me the most. I have tried putting nature in the spring collection," said Mustafiz Simily, owner of Z & Z Collections. Birds, flowers, peacocks, trees, butterflies and other animal motifs are used in the dresses, to symbolise spring. The manner of wearing the sari has changed and people nowadays are more open to experimenting, says the owner. Thus, she has come up with saris with fusion blouses, pleated kurtis, shalwar-kameez with embroidered capes, palazzo pants, tops, shirts with different designs, cuts, embroideries and floral prints. She has mostly used spring colours like purple, red, blue, orange, magenta, and yellow. "Muslin and jute cotton are my personal favourites. So these local fabrics are the dominant fixtures of my collection." says Silimy. "Cotton kameezes are my favourite from the collection.  I have done it especially for Falgun. I have done mirror work on the cloth and added a tie dyed orna to represent our festive mood."
