Drugs seized, peddlers arrested
Police arrested two drug pedddlers in Chandpur and Faridpur yesterday and the day before and recovered Yaba tablets and phensidyl syrup.
Police in Chandpur Sadar yesterday arrested Jamal Sayal, 32, and recovered Yaba tablets from him, reports a correspondent.
Acting on a tip-off, police held the drug peddler from the bank of the Dakatia River adjacent to Pakistan Bazar under Rampur union.
In Faridpur, members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and officials of Narcotics Control Department in a joint drive on Sunday arrested a drug peddler and seized 32 bottles of phensidyl at Sobharampur in Sadar upazila. according to UNB.
The team raided the spot and arrested M Mirazul Islam, 21, while he along with his accomplice Ranjan Jamader,34, was going to sell phensidyl. But Ranjan managed to flee leaving behind his bag containing 11 bottles of phensidyl.
The elite force also recovered 21 bottles of phensidyl from Mirazul's possession.
