Bangladesh jump to all-time high Test ranking
Bangladesh have scaled their highest-ever ICC Test rankings, moving up to seventh in the standings, following their 2-0 series win against Pakistan in Sylhet on Wednesday.
Courtesy of these two wins, the Tigers moved from ninth to seventh with 78 ranking points. Bangladesh’s previous best position was eighth, achieved in 2018.
Meanwhile, the wins also catapulted the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side into fifth place on the ICC World Test Championship standings.
The series triumph was Bangladesh's first at home against Pakistan and their second successive sweep over their Asian rivals after their 2-0 win on Pakistani soil in 2024.

The victory sees Bangladesh move up to fifth on the World Test Championship standings with a win-loss percentage of 58.33 percent, surpassing India who drop to sixth.
Bangladesh had started the Test series in eighth position with 16.67 percentage points. With these two wins, Bangladesh have gone past Pakistan, England, and India. Bangladesh have a total of 28 points from four matches now.
Pakistan remain in eighth place on the standings following the loss, with an 8.33 percentage points.
