DPL resumes Tuesday after nine-day Eid break
The Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) 2025-26 will resume on Tuesday after a nine-day Eid-ul-Adha break, with six matches scheduled and most national cricketers expected to return to action for their respective clubs.
League leaders Mohammedan Sporting Club will take on Legends of Rupganj in the marquee eighth-round fixture at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Meanwhile, Abahani will face Gulshan Cricket Club at BKSP-4.
In the other matches, Gazi Group Cricketers will meet Dhaka Leopards at the Bashundhara Sports Complex, while Agrani Bank Cricket Club take on City Club at BKSP-3. Prime Bank Cricket Club will face Brothers Union at Purbergaon Krira Shikkha Prothisthan, and Bashundhara Strikers will square off against Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club at the Cricketers Academy.
Mohammedan currently top the standings with 12 points, while Abahani, Legends of Rupganj and Prime Bank are tied on 10 points, occupying the next three positions.
At the other end of the table, Brothers Union, Gulshan Cricket Club and Rupganj Tigers are locked in the relegation battle, having managed just two points each from seven matches.
The ninth round is scheduled for June 5 and is expected to mark the final appearances of the national players in this season's league before they join Bangladesh's training camp for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia, which begins in Mirpur on June 9.
