Sheffield United’s League Cup campaign came to a disappointing end at Highbury Stadium, with Fleetwood Town securing a place in the fourth round.
The decisive moment came in the 57th minute, when Rhys Norrington-Davies turned the ball into his own net. The victory earned League Two side Fleetwood a home tie against Premier League champions Arsenal in the last 16.
Sheffield head coach Chris Wilder made seven changes to the team that lost to Wolves in Sunday’s Championship fixture, with Bangladesh star Hamza Choudhury among the substitutes.
