Peter Jackson has confirmed that he will direct the long-awaited sequel to “The Adventures of Tintin”, marking his return to directing a narrative feature film for the first time since 2014.

After his speech, he received a long standing ovation. A surprise tribute followed, including footage from his Beatles documentary.

Jackson is widely regarded as one of the defining filmmakers of contemporary fantasy cinema. His “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy (2001–2003) became a global phenomenon, earning nearly $3 billion at the box office and winning 17 Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director for “The Return of the King”.
