A US delegation left Beijing on Friday after two days of high-level talks with Chinese officials led by President Xi Jinping, with staff and journalists reportedly instructed to dispose of items collected during the visit before boarding the return flight.

Chinese President Xi Jinping yesterday called for a “constructive, strategically stable relationship” with the United States during talks with US President Donald Trump in Beijing, while warning that mishandling Taiwan could lead to “clashes and even conflicts” between the two powers.

Xi said negotiations between economic and trade teams on Wednesday had reached an "overall balanced and positive outcome"

Even as the United States remains locked in a fierce contest with China over the rollout of artificial intelligence, Chinese technology is steadily finding its way into the US market, largely under the radar. 

Trump has maintained a strong rhetoric, blaming China for economic abuses and promising to impose tariffs.
