Despite having made major progress in childhood immunisation through the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), Bangladesh is experiencing one of the most severe measles outbreaks in a decade.

Two crucial national campaigns -- distribution of deworming tablets and Vitamin A Plus capsules -- have remained suspended for over a year, a disruption experts say may have worsened the measles outbreak.

Over 2.14 crore children, aged between six months and five years, will be fed Vitamin A-plus capsules under a national campaign on November 14.
