Peres 'fighting for his life': source
Israeli ex-president and Nobel Peace Prize winner Shimon Peres-- the last of Israel's founding fathers -- was "fighting for his life" yesterday after suffering a stroke earlier this month, a source close to him said. Peres, 93, has held nearly every major office in Israel, serving twice as prime minister. He won the 1994 Nobel Peace Prize for his role in negotiating the Oslo Accords, which envisioned an independent Palestinian state.
