Udayan Chy dead
Ismail Hossain, noted screenwriter and organiser of the liberation war, died at his residence in the city on Monday after a prolonged illness. He was 87, says a press release.
Popularly known as Udayan Chowdhury, he was also a journalist and a scriptwriter at the Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra.
He edited the Samakal, a literary magazine, in the sixties.
Chowdhury wrote the screenplays of some acclaimed Bangla films such as Nil Akasher Niche, Abujh Mon, Alor Michhil and Etatuku Aasha.
He was a lifelong bachelor.
